Description

This manifold requires 24 Loop Fitting Assemblies (please see below).

TrueFLOW Manifold without Flow/Temperature Meters come fully assembled ready for installation. The TruFLOW balancing Hex Key is used on the internal balancing valves of the supply manifold to balance the loops across the manifold. Manifold is shipped with the appropriate number of Actuator Adapters (A2630028). Maximum recommended flow to the manifold based on manifold body diameter is 21.0 gpm.
Note: The Flow Meters (A2640015 and A2640027) are purchased separately and installed on the return manifold.

This manifold requires (24) Loop Fitting Assemblies:

PEX Loop Fitting Assemblies Options
PEX Compression Loop Fitting Assemblies
ProPEX Loop Fitting Assemblies
Optional Installation Accessories:

Loop End Cap

TruFLOW Supply/Return Ball Valves

TruFLOW Supply/Return Adapters
  • TruFLOW Supply/Return Adapters
These allow you to connect the manifold to your supply and return lines. The supply and return end of the manifold is R32 thread. Choose an R32 adapter that will connect the manifold to your desired application.
Actuators
  • A3010522: Thermal Actuator (4 Wire)
If you want to use your manifold to heat multiple zones, you can purchase return side actuators that work along side thermostats. The actuators act as zone valves to allow you to use one manifold to control the temperature in different rooms independently.

Very sturdy unit, easy to install

This was a do-it yourself project, I am an amateur not a professional. Everything went perfectly. Couldn't ask for more.

Make sure you know what you need

The general purpose of ordering materials from the internet is to save money. When you purchase from your local vendor you are supporting their overhead expenses, online businesses usually do not have the same overhead costs therefore their prices are usually much less. I found that the prices from Pex Supply were not much less than a local supplier. What was missing was the ability to ask a counter person questions. Pex Supply did not have or offer product support. Hence, you need to know exactly what you need for your project.

Yes, it can. The manifolds can be removed from the mounting brackets so they can be swapped.

Q: I seem to have a flow problem from 3 of the ports. When I bleed the air from each line the flow was strong from only one of the 4 loops, the other 3 the flow was very poor. I did each line individually so I am not sure what maybe causing the poor flow on 3 of the 4 loops. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Jim, This sounds obvious, but check to verify you don't have feed and return lines on the same manifold. A simple way to check layout is with a garden hose. Its easy to forget once lines are covered. Vance Sent from my Windows Phone

Water will always take the path of least resistance, are your loop lengths the same? I found any difference in length, ie my loops are 300 feet ea with two of them 304 feet any more than that will cause preferential flow. But is adjustable with the manifold. If you have to you can add length to your loop with pref flow to even it out if necessary Hope this helps. Rayman

Q: Can this system be retrofitted to zone a circa 1900s home with existing radiators? I aquired the manifolds for a different project but did not use them.

Yes but you have to bring each radiator to this manifold seperate> This will give you a chance to balance the radiators because they probably different sizes so one will got hotter sooner then the others. I will recommend you to bring 1/2" pex tubing from each radiator if its possible.

you must run each radiator as a home run to the manifold, a min of 5/8 pex must be used

Q: I have some buildup preventing one of the loops in the TruFLOW Manifold from closing and hot water bleeding by that loop when the pump is running providing heat to one of the other loops. Can I disassemble the loop and clean out that valve? I have one ball valve going in the supply loop to the floor above and not a way to shut off the return water line to the Manifold which as the defective valve controlled with the Uponor Thermal Actuator. Can I turn off the water to the supply line and will this prevent the water from leaking out of the manifold when I disassemble the valve?

Yes, you can clean the valve. You'll have to drain the system down in order to remove the valve.

Q: Can i use this upside down. I need to feed it from the top. Is there a gasket between the end cap and 1" conector A4133210?

The manifold can be mounted upside down, but any flow meters would not be able to operate. The A4133210 ProPEX adapter screws either directly into the manifold or into TruFLOW Manifold Supply and Return Ball Valves without any gasket.

You can easily undo the mounting bracket and swap the supply and return halves of the manifold such that the supply is at the top. Without any need to mount it upside down.

You do not need to install a separate automatic air vent, but it would help with the air-bleeding process.
