light years better than the older valves
My old Honeywell zone valves lasted over 30 yrs. However the new 5000 series quick release power head is a game changer. Slow closing motor makes it silent and so much better for piping. I'm surprised these aren't more popular.

Excellent valve
This is the higher flow version of their standard 3CV valve. The slow closing action helps prevent "bouncing" when other zones are flowing. The quick release heads aid servicing. Only quibble I have is that I wish the "sleeve" portion on the sweat connections was a bit longer to keep the flame heat away from the valve body. I only use 50/50 on these to keep temps down when soldering. Heads are backwards compatible with earlier series valves.
