    Fantastic water heater

I just ordered my second one and installed it, but the first lasted 8 years with hard well water and I never flushed it like I should have. I was so caught up with my new home construction, I never took the time to better understand the impact of not maintaining and benefits of a water softener. Today, with this new one.... I will absolutely flush it every year (or even twice a year) and we now have a quality water softener installed. The phone support from Takagi is very good.

This is my second water heater like this purchased

I put the same heater in my shop about 3 years ago and it has worked great. So when the old water heater went out in the house it was an easy decision on what to replace it with. The efficiency is excellent. My old heater had to be vented with double wall metal pipe. This new heater is vented through 4" pvc.

This is so good I just installed 2nd one one in new home.

This is 2nd one I have installed in 2 homes amd they are just awesome. Check your water PH and make sure it is 7 or higher and they will last a long long time. Low ph will eat the copper core.

    Amazing water heater

I built a new house 15 years ago and explored installing tankless water heaters. One of them was electric and ended up being useless so installed a large electric tank heater and a large propane tank heater. Both finally started having issues so decided to make replacements instead of repairs. I replaced the propane tank heater with the Takagi tankless. I got the largest model to avoid any lack of however. It is amazing. Endless amounts of hot water. I have it set at 130 degrees which is extra hot. When showering in a very large walk in shower with 6 heads it has no problems keeping up with demand. I live out in the country and am on a well and private septic system so have unlimited endless water. I typically take 30 minute very hot showers and this heater keeps up. This heater services the master wing of the house including one laundry room. I will be replacing the electric tank heater with another Takagi tankless propane heater to service the other half of the house. Then I will be replacing the electric tank heater in my detached workshop with a tankless. The main reason for going tankless was endless hot water. A side benefit will be lower energy consumption and maintenance. With a little preventative maintenance these units likely will last over 30 years.

Easy install. So far we are impressed.

We bought this to replace a still functioning tank water heater that was contaminated with iron from the previous home owner not keeping his water treatment equipment functional. I found this tankless heater to be easy to install. If you have minimal mechanical knowledge or are just good working with your hands and able to read instructions you should be able to do it. Its been installed for only a few weeks so far and we are impressed. You can start the washer when someone is taking a shower and not freeze the person in the shower. The water dose get a little cooler but then recovers quickly without going cold until the water shuts off in the washer. We are thinking about buying a second one to replace a ageing tank water heater in another house we own.

    2 years, no problems

Just wanted to give a long term review on this water heater. Purchased and installed myself in June 2016. Live in hard water country. I have a water softener but still do a white vinegar flush for 45 minutes every 6-9 months. This unit has worked perfectly since day 1 of installation and am hoping for many more years of trouble free, endless hot water.

All of the connections on the T-H3 should match up identically with the older T-H2.
