Description

Includes supply/return shut-off valves with temperature wells.

Requires 6 Loop Fitting Assemblies (please see below).

Features:

  • Flexible, modular and singular design system
  • Easy-to-assemble construction
  • Precise flow control and balancing
  • Fitting for both PEX and Multilayer Pipe
  • Control for the dominant heating systems like hydronic floor heating, fan coil heating or baseboard heating.
  • No Sealant or Teflon required

This manifold requires (6) Loop Fitting Assemblies:

PEX Loop Fitting Assemblies Options

PEX-AL-PEX Loop Fitting Assemblies Options

Optional Installation Accessories:

Loop End Cap -
These allow you to cap off a loop of the manifold if it will not be used.

Actuators

  • Thermal Actuator for Bluefin Manifolds
If you want to use your manifold to heat multiple zones, you can purchase return side actuators that work along side thermostats. The actuators act as zone valves to allow you to use one manifold to control the temperature in different rooms independently.
The VA 80 adapter ring is also required when using an actuator with a Bluefin manifold, which you can find  here.

Solid units, work well

I purchased 4 of these (3, 5, 7, & 8 loops) and installed them myself. I am not a plumber, but managed to get them in without too much difficulty. Do be aware that they are large (much bigger then the old INFLOOR units I replaced), but that they seem to be about the same size as other brands with similar function. They also seem to be less expensive due to the stainless steel bodies rather than brass. The units are very solid in construction, and offer excellent bleed / flush ports, and also valves to isolate the unit completely. The also have thermo-wells which is a nice touch, but i noticed that the body of one of mine was loose on the stem so I would not be too dependent upon their accuracy. Do be sure to check the size of your PEX hydronic heat lines (mine are 3.8" so I had to buy those fittings - the default that come with them are 1/2". Also, if you are using 3/8" PEX loops, my plumber (who I had check my work), suggested not to throttle the flow valves back at all as the flow rates are so low that any impedance could cause improper heating. He also pointed out that the manifolds themselves will distribute the flow well due to their large volume so throttling should not be necessary anyway. You should also be sure to use a 1" male brass fitting on each of the inlets and outlets (actually the valve body) as I was unable to get seals with copper fittings (maybe just me - again I am not a plumber, but the brass units worked perfectly first time). You should also be aware that the valve end of the manifold is a bit fiddly when it comes to leak stoppage as you have a sequence of a rubber seal, nylon seal and pipe thread all in just a few inches - but I did get them all to seal and I am sure better plumbers than I will do it without worry. You will need two large crescent wrenches (or a crescent and a pipe wrench) to tighten up this bit if you care about the final position of the valve handle and thermo-well (tough to explain - you will see what I mean when you do it yourself). I did have one fault on the 7 loop unit, and that was a very slow leak around the seal on the flowmeter. PEX Supply replaced the unit without question and the replacement works fine. Overall- good product, I only market the unit down due to the one leaking flow meter (which required removing the whole unit from a very tight opening in a wall cavity in my home), and the unreliable thermo-well.

Compression gasket fails.

I have installed 2 of these in my own house for use with an Ultra-Fin system. Both units have leaked chronically at the joint at the ends of the manifolds. I have replaced the gaskets once already but leaks reoccur. When it starts to leak again you have to retighten the joint (more compression on the gasket.) After multiple times of doing this the joint is completely closed (no more compression possible) and then it will eventually again begin to leak with no option but to replace the gasket. I suspect it is a failure of the elastomer of the gasket material. I am about to try silicone o-rings in place of the gaskets and hope this might effect a permanent seal.

Great quality

I used this product for a mudroom and laundry room addition. Very happy with the quality came with everything needed except for the compression fitting nuts. It just depends on the size of your pex.

Good heft to the manifold, seams to be good quality.

The fittings had to very tight to stop leakage. The valves on top are easy to loosen at the base when opening.

Nice little unit

Well designed manifold with in and out shut off valves and temp gauges. Two fill and purge fittings along with easy to read and adjust flow meters , made this a simple install. Did I mention it's all stainless steel ? Nice little unit.

I would definitely buy again!!

I installed this in my 24x40 garage. I'm really happy with it. It's well built, very easy to install. All of the threads are smooth and work well. The gpm indicators and flow controls are easy to read and open and close easily. I would absolutely buy this again.

I like this product and have used them many times.

Easy install has all the accessories except the 1/2" pex adaptors that have came with it in the past. They no longer ship them with the unit. Wish I would have known that when I ordered, it would have saved me an extra trip back and 3 days wait time.

I highly recommend this particular manifold

I have installed 2 of these. 1 installed tonight and one about 3 years ago. Super high quality, never had a leak, and super easy to install. Both of mine were used in a radiant floor heat application.

Q: Are the inlet/outlet valves BP 1" threads on both sides? I know the manifold is British at the inlet/outlet, but wasn't sure for the non manifold side of the valve.

Yes, the threads are the same on each side, allowing the ball valves and drains to be swapped.

Q: stainless compatible with domestic water? (open system)

Rifeng manifolds are compatible with open-loop heating systems.

Was this review helpful to you?
-

Yes, the stainless steel equipment is 100% safe and compatible with the domestic water when the stainless steel has a certain type of alloy, see it with the dealer. Besides, I can say that all food handling is mostly done with this material. So if you have any questions, discard and dare to use it.

Was this review helpful to you?
-

Yes, but for domestic water a different type of manifold is used without flow meters.

Q: Are additional fittings required for the PEX tubing attachment? (Rifeng 1/2") Or are these included?

Additional fittings are required. They are part MA-50P, which are included with the RHM03-50PK package.
