55/5 MFD Round Dual Motor Run Capacitor (440/370V)

My AC went down during the time when the temperature reached 100 degree in my area. I could not find any parts from the local stores or through the contractors. I went online and did some research. SupplyHouse.com offered the best price for the part even after the shipping charges. I went ahead and purchase two capacitors so that I will have one for spare. The part arrived at my door in two days without any delay. My AC came back alive after putting the part into the system.

I have a York HVAC system. I put this TitanPro capacitor in the condenser unit after a GE capacitor gave out after 20 years of faithful service. I bought 2 of these because they were so cheap, so I thought I was getting a deal. This TitanPro lasted me less than one full season. One day, the compressor started getting louder and louder until it stopped completely. I checked the capacitor readings, and they were 0. The capacitor wasn't bloated like the dead GE capacitor that I replaced, so I couldn't tell just by looking at the TitanPro that it had died. Fortunately, only the capacitor was destroyed, not the actual HVAC system. After about 30 minutes or so, I popped in the spare TitanPro, and the HVAC began working again. I replaced this with an AmRad capacitor, and the AmRad has lasted me 2 seasons so far and is still going. As I bought 2 of these TitanPros, I have a spare left. They do work, but I would only keep it as a backup so that if my current AmRad gives out, I will substitute this one in until a new good quality capacitor arrives. During hot summers, I can't afford to wait a couple of days for a capacitor to be delivered. In my case, it still has its uses, so I give it 2 stars, but I would not use this as anything more than a spare. Sometimes a less expensive option is a good deal. In this case, it turned out not to be the case.
