Description

Compatible with Rifeng accessories and replacement parts.

Includes supply/return shut-off valves with temperature wells.

Requires 8 Loop Fitting Assemblies (please see below).

Features:

  • Flexible, modular and singular design system
  • Easy-to-assemble construction
  • Precise flow control and balancing
  • Fitting for both PEX and Multilayer Pipe
  • Control for the dominant heating systems like hydronic floor heating, fan coil heating or baseboard heating.
  • No Sealant or Teflon required

This manifold requires (8) Loop Fitting Assemblies:

PEX Loop Fitting Assemblies Options

PEX-AL-PEX Loop Fitting Assemblies Options

Optional Installation Accessories:

Loop End Cap -
These allow you to cap off a loop of the manifold if it will not be used.

Actuators

  • Thermal Actuator for Bluefin Manifolds
If you want to use your manifold to heat multiple zones, you can purchase return side actuators that work along side thermostats. The actuators act as zone valves to allow you to use one manifold to control the temperature in different rooms independently.
The VA 80 adapter ring is also required when using an actuator with a Bluefin manifold, which you can find  here.

I would buy this again

I was able to connect this manifold directly to the shutoff/temp gage union from the old manifold so there was no other replumbing to do.The old and the new manifolds looked nearly identical looking at the picture, but the old manifold had no brand and was constructed very poorly compared to the Bluefin/Rifeng. The old manifold had a crimped connection for the tubing and flow control housing where it connected to the 1" diameter casting with the large nut. The old shutoff union screwed right onto the new manifold, the bracket spacing was either identical or so close I needed no adjustment, and the hose fittings (from the old manifold) screwed right so I now have spare hose connectors.

Does the Job but Not Happy

The directions were misspelled ..... They read counterclockwise to turn up flow and counterclockwise to turn down flow makes no sense. Had to go online and download the corrected directions. Also the connections for the supply and return drip. Have tighten them up but they still drip. Don't know what else to do.

Instructions aren't very detailed.

It came shipped with S&R manifolds opposite as the instructions show. Not that big of a deal. You can't tell which is S or R manifold from any labeling or text. Easy enough for me to confirm what I already thought was correct using the internet. It also refers to where the blue and red valves get located on each of the S&R manifolds, but the instructions are B&W, so again, not enough info. I haven't installed it yet so I'm not recommending it until it sees some use.

only purchased because first one failed

We put an addition on house 10 years ago. With new blue fin boiler and manifold. The flow meter gauges turned cloudy right away ,didn't surprise me with cast boiler. I used cast boiler treatment upon first install.with all oxygen barrier tubing. the stainless steal part of manifold is great .it's the plastic cover on flow meter gauges that cracked and leaked. If you wish to buy one, it will last about 8 to 10 years. I shut down a bad leaking valve about 3 yrs. ago. I purchased this one for easy swap .I did not know original was Blue Fin brand. Supply House was cheaper than 1st. one.

No, unfortunately the manufacturer does not offer the appropriate pex press loop fittings to make it compatible with Fostapex tubing.

1/2" PEX has a .475" inside diameter and a 5/8" outside diameter. It sounds like you have 1/2" PEX. The outside diameter of PEX will always be 1/8" larger than its nominal size.

Q: Will this manifold work with uponor plumbing. I have 3/4" uponor, that will be attached with ProPex expandable rings. Thanks for your help

This manifold works with Uponor PEX tubing, but there are no ProPEX fittings available for use with it. Additionally, the loops on this manifold must be either 1/2", 3/8", or 5/8". To connect 3/4" ProPEX to the shutoff valves (which have 1" female standard pipe thread), you can use the part LF4527510 ProPEX fitting.

Q: I have about 1200' of 1/2" rehau pex in my slab, what kind of fittings do I need to connect the pex to this manifold? Is this a good choice or would you choose a different manifold? Also do you have a cheap pressure gauge that will hook up to this manifol?

Asked by 14 years ago

As long as the Rehau tubing is standard 1/2" PEX and not PEX-AL-PEX, you can use the MA-50P fittings. You can use the MP182 pressure gauge with this manifold.

You can install the manifold upside down. Just keep in mind that you won't be able to read the visual flow meters if they are upside down.

I turned mine upside down and actually had to take it apart because I needed the flow from the opposite side too. Yes it does work but make sure your soldered fittings that connect to it are all lined up or it may leak like mine did. The flow meters won't work upside down but evidently Mr. Pex flowmeters (item # at pexsupply is 3710172)do work upside down. I plan to order some for my system. Also, the actuators will end up upside down and there is the possibility of water getting in them. I had one die after 3 months; I think because it got a couple drips of water in it.

You need to use MA-50P fittings with 1/2" PEX at the loops of this manifold.
