How do push-fit connections work?
The fittings slide over properly-sized copper, PEX, or CPVC that been. Pre-installed insert pieces are required for connections to PEX tubing, but can be removed for connections to copper and CPVC to allow better flow. Due to potential wear on the connection mechanism, the manufacturer does not recommend using a SharkBite fitting that has already been installed for a permanent installation. Multiple disconnect tool options, such as clip and tongs, make removal of fittings easy.
